Your right, Pedestrians do have the right of way... If someone hit you

with a vehicle, then it is the driver fault. One problem, The vehicle is

bigger then me and it can hurt or kill me. LOL

-- owning the streets

Hi ,

Actually you DO own the street. Pedestrians always have the right of

way, as I had to point out to the person who hit me with her car. She

made a habit of hitting folks in cross walks, because she was busy

looking left while turning right. And I have vision. Just never

expected anyone to be that bad of a driver. Repeatedly. I was her 3rd

hit in 2 years. I suggested that 3 strikes and you're out is a good

motto for drivers as well as baseball players. And maybe someone should

give her a bicycle or a pair of walking shoes. Protect the rest of us.

Nothing wrong with being assertive. Don't start with me, you will NOT

win.

I'm glad you are so assertive with drivers. Nowadays you really have to

be.

People in my complex always tell me how " mean " I look when I walk down

the

street. They tell me I look as though I own the streets. LOL!

Hi ,

Another part of the problem are police officers who refuse to enforce the

law. I live less than a mile away from a police station, yet on a highway

located walking distance from my home, we *still* have problems with

" cruisers, " drunk drivers, etc. I just don't get it...

In your situation, there was absolutely *no* reason why the driver who hit

you should have gotten away with it 3 times. I'm so sorry this happened to

you!! I've been angry at drivers who pull out in front of me, but if they

stole what hearing I had left, I'd be out for blood!!!

What infuriates me even more is the fact that the DOT stands by and does

absolutely nothing to increase the safety of pedestrians.

That needs to change -- NOW.
