Congratulations, . What a gift for the holidays! You are right about 2005.

It's going to be a wonderful year of beautiful hearing for you. I guess my

prediction failed by one day but I'm so glad to read this. This has been a

wonderful week for you and you deserve it!

.....Congratulations on your surgery date and I know you're

counting the days and minutes. Now is the time to go ahead and get

your Christmas shopping, cards, etc. completed. You can ask your

family and friends to give you things to use in your auditory

rehabilitation efforts. I'm think " talking " Christmas cards that you

could practice listening to in January. Wouldn't that be fun?

My Surgery Date

Hi everyone,

My surgery is scheduled for December 22nd -- a few days before Christmas!! I

will need to meet with my surgeon and have a pre-op appointment before then,

but it looks like everything is moving along quite nicely. :)

Given this time frame, it looks as though my activation date will be

scheduled in late January.

2005 will mark 10 years of severe to profound hearing loss. How nice it will

be to close that chapter in my life and begin a new one filled with sound!!

What a wonderful week this has been...

Surgery date: 12/22/04

Congratulations Irv. What seems like a long wait will be upon you

before you know it. You've had lots of time to learn a few things

about implants too.

Here's hoping everything goes well and you have a great ci journey.

Surgery Scheduler with available dates-----September 13th or 20th.

After consulting with family, I chose the 13th. I tried to also

contact the CI Audie to see if that was OK from an activation

standpoint, but got mo reply to my posts(she may be on vacation). I

doubt if she will object though. I sent a post to the Scheduler a few

moments ago, and expect to get more details from her as soon as she

receives it. Hooray!!!!!! I can't believe I am finally getting some

concrete results after this long wait! I guess all good things DO come

to those who wait.

Hey, , thanks for the good wishes. While my surgery date is probably going

to be 9/13, the Audie wants to be sure a Cochlear Corp. Rep. is at my activation

since I will be the 1st Freedom done at Santa Clara Kaiser. The surgeon has

already done one, but not the Audie. All the appropriate people at Cochlear are

on vacation till next week, so another wait. As of now, it is still the 13th,

with proposed activation on the 20th. Yes, I have really learned a lot. I hope I

will be as successful with my implant as you all are. Regards.
