Guest guest
Regular garden sage for medicinal (for me).. I know pineapple though. St. swort is easier than I thought. I have Hyssopus officinalis and yes it is easy also. Neither get full sun and grow fine. I am working on herbs that come back on their own and can tolerate sun and shade as I have some trees in the front also... I took over the front yard for herbs as one would a flower garden. It's been several years in the making as I may plant something and it doesn't come back the following year and I have to start over with something new... but it is starting to fill in good. I ahve other herbs out there also. Suzi feoneafey <feoneafey@...> wrote: Hello SuziWhat type sage do you have? have you ever grown "pineapple sage"?Oooo.. St. swart... i havent tryed that one yet! Guest guest
I grew pineapple sage quite a few years ago and loved it. It smelled so good! The information on the plants I had said it should be an annual in the climate where I live, but it came back for two years before dying out. I got the plants in a nursery and have never seen them around here since then. It was really easy to grow. I planted it along the south side of the house in full sun. well drained soil, watered it regularly and it took off and spread like crazy in just one summer. It might have died out because my lemon balm and regular mint took over the spot. Guest guest
St 's Wort - up in Humboldt County where our lives (for the next 2 weeks!) the farmers cuss it in the cow fields because the cows won't eat it. It grows wild all over the cow fields. Wildcrafters are very welcome to pick it. Farmers call it Humboldt Weed!
