Guest guest
Dana, The real question is, are you willing to wait indefinitely for the new CI? Who knows how long it iwll take to get to market, 2006? 2007? And will the new features be worth the long wait? In the meantime, you are not hearing. I know I beat to this.... The time to hear is NOW. *---* *---* *---* *---* *---* Sarcasm is just one more service I offer. & Gimlet (Guide Dawggie) Portland, Oregon N24C 3G 8/2000 Hookup rlclark77@... http://home.comcast.net/~rlclark77/
Guest guest
Hi Dana, Thanks for the explanation of the System 4! I just e-mailed my audi to ask if my center (Froedtert Hospital/Medical College of Wisconsin) will be participating in the trial. Since there are only four locations nationwide, I highly doubt they are one of them. Making the decision to wait for the System 4 or go ahead with surgery *is* a hard one to make! Since I've experienced a number of delays over the past few months, I've decided to proceed with surgery and have the Nucleus 3. If you decide to go ahead with the System 4, I hope you'll keep us updated on how it works out for you. I'd be very interested in learning about the improvements and differences between it and the Nucleus 3. Hopefully users of older Nucleus devices can upgrade to the newer System 4 sometime next year. Guest guest
Not only is it a matter of time but also of whether it will work!! I never go for the first issue of anything man made..always wait for the manufacturers to get the bugs out of whatever it is before I step up and sometimes that can take sometime... I have a huge respect for the people that were the Guinea Pigs for the Cochlear Implant manufacturers but no way was I going to jump in there myself.. Just my take on it all though..everyone is different.. Cheers Dave in New Zealand At 02:07 12/10/2004 +0000, you wrote: >You're right, ... >This definitely IS the big question. Guest guest
>>Whatever the outcome, there's some consolation in knowing that all the options were researched and weighed, and that this wasn't something done on a whim.<< Dana, Exactly! Whether or not you decide to participate in the trials, I hope you'll let us know what happens.
