Any infusion with catnip. Tea used as spray, essential oil added to water tospray. Tinctures with either ACV or alcohol. Lemon balm, basil, garlic, see messages 33331 32641 32029 29370 3768 3737 3715 for a few more - and I just posted a file to Natural Herbal Remedies Fieber <pfieber@...> wrote: Hi It seems to be mosquito time already and I would like to know what people are using as a repellent and also what could you use once

When we used to go camping on the coast, I would make a tincture of catnip with ACV and use it as a spray. The mosquitos hated it. Unfortunately the small stinging gnats loved it. I used to live in one of the mosquito capitols of the world. I put a very small dab of tea tree oil on pulse points, like perfume - behind each ear, wrists, elbows. No bites at all.

I spend my winters in south Florida and have found that if I take a garlic/parsley softgel daily the mosquitoes don't bother me. Of course, the mosquitoes don't come out en force until long after I'm north again for the summer.

After a bite has occurred, I probably wouldn't think to use anything, unless it got inflamed. Then I'd probably start with cold pressed aloe gel.
