,

Interesting those who had German Measles could lose hearing years later.

When I was 8, I had the German Measles and my temp went up to 106 and I

almost died, and my grandmother nursed me back to health. After that bout,

my grandmother always said repeatedly my vision changed after it. To her,

something was different. I did lose the rest of my hearing (and vision) 40

years later, but don't know if it was due to the inherited deafblindness

known as Usher Syndrome or due to German Measles.

Hi! I m minnie and I was born deaf due to Rubella. My mother caught it

while she was pregnant with me. If any pregnant women get the german measles it

will cause the unborn babys hearing loss, hearing loss with blindness or heart

defect. Yes I agree that the children should have the MMR, I feel strongly

that they should have them which will prevent the worries of the pregnant

women. Its not genetic as I got four hearing children.

Hope that helps to clarify that.

take care,

best wishes,

Minniex

Thanks. The guy who is interested doesnt seem to think he will qualify.

I told him the only way to find out is to get the CI evaluation done.
