Guest guest
This is a neat website. I have been entering my shampoos and personal care products into it to see how they test. One problem I do have is that when I looked up Dr. Bonner's soap, here is what came up: 53% May contain harmful impurities or breakdown products 1 ingredient potentially contaminated with impurities linked to cancer or other significant health problems VITAMIN E 35% Reproductive or developmental harm - limited evidence 1 ingredient thought to possible present risks to human reproduction and development, linked to potential for reduced fertility or reduced chance for a healthy, full-term pregnancy (limited evidence reproductive or developmental toxin) SAPONIFIED CANNABIS SATIVA (HEMP) OIL According to this website, Vitamin E could be potentially contaminated with impurities linked to cancer or other significant health problems and Hemp Oil could cause reproductive harm. Does anyone know if these two things are true? Seems odd to me that Vitamin E could be linked to cancer and I found websites stating that hemp is great when used during pregnancy. Guest guest
Hi Michele, I just read the article regarding Vitamin E but I understood it to say that Dr. Mercola does not agree with it. He went as far as to call it garbage. Vitamin E is a fat soluble vitamin and, as such, excesses are stored in the fat cells rather than being eliminated like a water-soluble vitamin would be. I can see a problem with that in itself but not in a shampoo which is a wash off product and miniscule amounts would be absorbed. Guest guest
Hello!I switched out my lotions and facial moisturizers for Mineral Oil and corn huskers lotion. I put the oil on dry spost right out of the shower before toweling. Changed my moisturizing face soap to a glycerin base (Neutrogena facial bar) and my shower gel to one that didn't advertise lotions or moisturizing (although I could not find a decent liquid soap without some oil and or vitamins) and kept my usual shampoo / conditioner.I was really worried about my soaps and shampoos, but didn't see any impact at all.Hope that helps!
