Guest guest
for the deaf who are anti-ci, i know they are anti-hearing, because hearing affects their culture. but for hearing aid audiologist, if they are anti-ci, i don't know whether they are anti-hearing or pro-hearing. the mere fact they fit hearing aids they seems like pro-hearing, but being anti-ci, they seems like anti-hearing... it would be great if brad can shed light why he doesn't like ci, at least we get to know him more of his position. Guest guest
Jerome, For the nth time. I don't dislike CI's. I just want to better understand all the pros and cons (pros are clear to me, cons still coming along) and feel that the science behind the selection process is not as solid as I feel comfortable with. We've beat that horse to death and I won't go there again. I've had several friends and patients who have demonstrated that hearing aids and ALDs were not going to meet their goals for hearing. I then refer them to a CI center or a list like this to learn more about it so my bias won't color their decision. ____________________________________________ Best Regards, Brad Ingrao, M.S.Ed.
