Guest guest Posted November 20, 2006 Report Posted November 20, 2006 Stef, Thanks for the tip on this doctor...I just searched and found him online and called his office...He is $200.00 w/fluro and has been well established for many years (from what the receptionist said)...His information is: Dr. Frederico Maese 972-842-3211 he is located at 6170 Sherry Lane Suite 200, Dallas, TX 75225...I had made a doctor's appointment with another Dallas Dr. who charges $250.00 but I have switched to Dr. Maese...It's 50.00 saved and he can get me in Dec. 4th at 1:45 PM. Every dollar saved can go towards the gas to get there... Guest guest Posted November 20, 2006 Report Posted November 20, 2006 SO let me get this right, you go to Mexico to have the lap band put in then have your fills done here inthe US? Will the US doctors do that for you? Even if they did not do the surgery? Also since I am still in the research stage of this process, will the Flexible Savings plan that you can get through your work allow you to repay a medical loan? I have to barrow some of the money to do this and wanted to repay through the plan. Thanks for the info in advance, and don't be put off by the email address. It was a joke that stuck. I am really hoping to have this done just as soon as possible. Guest guest Posted November 20, 2006 Report Posted November 20, 2006 Nadine, Yes you can find Doctors here in the US to fill. I found two here in Phoenix that do it but I'm only less than 4hrs from the clinic so I will probably go there I go in on the 8th of Dec. to get my band I can tell you I have done very much research on this I am gong to visit the Facilities this Sat. but I can tell you I already feel at ease with this doctor and facility I think this team will take better care of you than any in the US. I wish you luck I know when you finish with your research you will be right back here :~) I did.. nl gill <nothing4real77@...> wrote: SO let me get this right, you go to Mexico to have the lap band put in then have your fills done here inthe US? Guest guest Posted November 20, 2006 Report Posted November 20, 2006 Thanks, Rena! That is FANTASTIC NEWS! Good luck on your fill, and let me know how things go with Dr. Maese! Nadine, yes...doctors here in the US will take care of your fills. (Though I hear that not ALL will.) If you go to the database section of this site, there is a database that everyone contributes to to build the list of fill doctors all over the US. I am yet to be banded, but hope to be banded at the first of the year. I am already approved by Dr. A. I called United Health today regarding my FSA and IT WILL COVER IT! So I am going to finance the surgery with that, since there is no interest and its being paid with pre- tax money. With the cost of the surgery, it will reduce my taxable income for my 2007 Tax Return, so that also is a bonus! It's a win- win situation no matter how you look at it! No loans for me, which is good, because I have worked too hard to become 100% debt free outside of my mortgage! Good luck in your research...I am convinced that Dr. A is the way to go for me! Take care, both of you...Stef > Someone posted this information about a fill doctor in Dallas, TX: > TEXAS... Guest guest Posted November 21, 2006 Report Posted November 21, 2006 Nadine, Yes, There are some US doctors that will do the fills for Mexico patients...And there are some that won't...You can go online and at Dr. Aceves web page and get a list of US doctors...I've had no trouble finding one and I live in a very small town. I found one that was 1-1/2 hours from me but he was to high...The one I have found now is 3-1/2 hours but is only $200.00...You may want to call around and line you up a doctor to do the fills...Even if I couldn't find a US doctor I'd still have the surgery done in Mexico and I'd just go back there for my fills...It's well worth it... I have no idea about Flexible Savings...I just took out a personal loan and paid that way... Once I decided to have the surgery...I emailed Nina and was scheduled for a few weeks later...It's that fast!!! Good luck and I hope it all works out for you....Feel free to ask more questions...I know I had a ton of them when I 1st started... ~Bye, Renanl gill <nothing4real77@...> wrote: SO let me get this right, you go to Mexico to have the lap band put in then have your fills done here inthe US? Guest guest Posted November 21, 2006 Report Posted November 21, 2006 I have heard from one patients that he is a good doctor in the sense that he knows what he is doing but that he scolds patients for coming to Mexico. Ironic since he is latin.I do not remember who our patient was. ( Ruth? I seem to recall but not sure) Many doctors do fill Mexican banded patients but they lkike to stress their disaproval. Call to find out about appontments and current prices, they do change and the database is not always updated. Guest guest Posted November 21, 2006 Report Posted November 21, 2006 I called and they told me $200.00 w/fluro, that's even for 1st time patients...I had one doctor in Little Rock that wanted $700.00 for the 1st visit and 400.00 for ever after...That's nuts!!!! I can buy a plane ticket cheaper...I have also had doctors scold me for going to Mexico and I tell them plain and simple I couldn't afford it in the US...They should be happy doing the fills...I'd be happy to make $200.00 for a few minutes work... Guest guest Posted November 22, 2006 Report Posted November 22, 2006 Hi! Yes, it was me that had a bad experience with Dr. Maese (good memory Nina!)... I left his office in tears... he basically told me that I was an idiot for going to Mexico... his uncle is Dr. who is a band surgeon in Mexico... and he told me that my Dr. was stupid and put the wrong size of band on me (I have the largest band)... and that he would replace my band and put in the right size for only $15,000... he told me I should have come to him in the first place before I had made the huge mistake of going to Mexico... I was newly banded and so confused and concerned about what he had said about my band size... called Nina in tears and she talked me through it and made it all good.... after talking to her it just reconfirmed what I already knew... that I love Dr. A, that he had our best interest at heart and that he was going to take care of us... and that Nina watches out for us and helps us through all our problems and gives us such amazing customer care! BUT don't not go to him because of me!!! I've been kind of toying with the idea of going back to him.... I need a fill so bad... He's hours closer to me than Dr. Dobson/... I live north of Dallas and Dr. Maese is centerally located and his prices are good... AND he's a good dr. you just have to be aware that he'll bad mouth going to Mexico. Anyway so will you please let us know how your fill goes! If you want to email me my email address is CajunFrancks@... I always read the messages, just don't post too often. That's where I live... I'm 15 miles from Hope, AR (everyone should of heard of Hope) Bill Clinton's birth place...It takes me a little over an hour to get to Sheveport... The receptionist told me the 1st visit would cost $350.00...And around 200 afterwards... I'll look forward to meeting you someday soon...Have a safe trip to Mexico...You'll love Dr. Aceves, Nina, Yulonda, Serigo and everyone... Guest guest Posted December 12, 2006 Report Posted December 12, 2006 Hi Alli, How did it go? I hope your home & doing good... I went to Dr. yesterday (in Sheveport) he is fantastic! Very nice! He asked me a few questions about Mexico such as: How did I like my experience? What was the hospital like? He didn't make me feel bad about going at all...It only cost me $190.00 for the fill and he'll charge my insurance for the office visit $160.00...So it worked out great for me...He put 1 c.c in my band...He thought he might have a hard time getting it into my band because my band has shifted and not lying flat, but after probing for a minute he injected the needle and after just moving it around a bit he found my port...So only 1 poke with the needle...My mom's doctor has poked her up to 15 times in one visit... He is located at 1534 Ave. Suite 400; phone number is: 318-681-7980...His wife () also works there...But I didn't meet her... Well I sure hope all went well for you... If you have any questions feel free to call me at: © 870-703-4959 (w) 870-887-2441 (h) 870-887-0187... I've been kind of toyingwith the idea of going back to him.... I need a fill so bad... He'shours closer to me than Dr. Dobson/. .. I live north of Dallasand Dr. Maese is centerally located and his prices are good... ANDhe's a good dr. you just have to be aware that he'll bad mouth goingto Mexico.Anyway so will you please let us know how your fill goes! Guest guest Posted December 12, 2006 Report Posted December 12, 2006 I'm confused....your BAND has shifted or your port has shifted??? Surely that was a typo, no??? He asked me a few questions about Mexico such as: How did I like my experience? What was the hospital like? Guest guest Posted December 12, 2006 Report Posted December 12, 2006 That is awesome to hear Rena! I will definitely give him a try then. Insurance paying for the visit sounds REALLY good. I'll check into that - I bet I can do that too! My trip was great - absolutely no problems at all. Feeling great and happy to be a loser!
