I had the same fear when first activated, worrying about draining them out. But I would get " listen, do you hear it " sometime I do, sometime I would hear it later. This is how I found out that we can hear the train going by a mile away and for few weeks, I couldn't hear it until one morning, I heard it. Woke my kid up and say, " IS THE TRAIN GOING BY? " that was at about 4am! LOL Of course, my kids thought I was NUT! No matter what ... learning to hear is an exciting and frustrating process. I swear they are more excited than we are. Sometime I wonder, who are the parents, me or my kids, the way they often would say " listen " . Just try to figure out the sound with visual cue, most of us can figure it out. For example, if you hear something tapping and can't sort it, look around and see someone hammering on side of house, then you knew. If you still can't sort it out, by all mean, ask someone. Once my hearing dog let me know it was a bird when I couldn't sort out the crow calls, I looked left, right, behind forward, and still don't get it, until I looked down at my dog and he was busy looking UP! And there it is.. crows flying above us. You will be amazed what you might guess at first. Lee
