Ohhh ....I can't wait until I'm sighing about something new

in my life - my new implant! Keep on letting us know all your ups

and downs; your experiences are invaluable to all of us. So, I say,

all together now: ADVENTURE!!

Good luck using it and let us know what you think of the two programs.

It funny how we have to " play " with programs to find what works best... for

a long time, I had only ACE to go by. I complained that I couldn't

understand speech on TV or radio, using ACE. CIS was added, and it helped,,,

but at

the same time, as time goes by, I find myself understanding the TV more and

more on ACE... Had me wonder if use of one program help us " learn " to use

another program. it make sense to me.

Thinking of dumping CIS,

Lee

Hi . I spent the last month on SPEAK hoping it would help get rid

of the whine in voices that I get in the ACE program. I find that ACE

gives me a crisper sound in voices and musical instruments. I switched

back to ACE for a couple of days then back to SPEAK and found that SPEAK

just isn't loud enough for me any longer. Also SPEAK is more muted then

ACE. Good luck using it and let us know what you think of the two programs.

Who knows Lee. I had the problem with the whine in voices with ACE. Speak

was pretty good for the month but once I switched back to ACE for just a

couple of days, I found that Speak was worse in terms of understanding any

voices. The hollow sound made words blurry (for want of a better

word). Anyway, my next appointment with the audi and the rep from Cochlear

will be next month. I am to plan on at least two hours to work with them

both. Hopefully something good will come of it to last me until spring.
