Guest guest
Hi Team! Hope everyone is doing better than I am at the moment. Twelve days ago I went to bed fine and woke up sick as can be. I have been nursing a raw throat and what has turned into a severe sinus infection. I haven't been this sick in many years. Just sitting up gets me light headed and sometimes nauseous. I have been drinking lots of water and green tea with lemon and raw honey. I broke down and started taking tylenol and ibuprophen (?) because my sinuses hurt so bad. I read all the time about tonics and teas like kombucho in the posts here. Can anyone make a recommendation for me. I want to heal from this awful sickness, but I also think I should be taking some kind of preventative tonic or tea. Any ideas? Also, totally different subject, does anyone have a recommendation for tightening skin? Any creams or oils? Bless you all and peace on earth. Guest guest
Hi Cheryl, sorry you're feeling bad... Are you taking super tonic?? Do you have any garlic cloves? any white onions? Drink plenty of "lemon water" not lemon in tea... What do you have on hand in the way of herbs? Have you been to the files? Are you taking any immune boosters? here are a couple ideas.. but do check the files too. Garlic Get Well Broth 1 Onion; chopped 4 Garlic clove; peeled 1/2 ts Ginger; grated 1/2 c water Bouquet garni** Salt; to taste Pepper; to taste Boil all until garlic and onion are soft. Strain and serve. **Making a traditional bouquet garni The traditional bouquet garni was a "broth posy" consisting of 3 stalks parsley, 1 sprig thyme and 1 bay leaf, tied together in a little bundle with a piece of sting. It was added to stews, sauces and casseroles and removed before serving. Sinus & Congestion Tea Here is a nice formula to use for sinus headaches and congestion. It works like a charm! 1oz. Elder flower 1 oz. Eyebright 1 oz. Echinacea herb 1/2 oz. Orange peel 1/2 oz. Dandelion leaf 1/4 oz. Goldenrod To make: Mix all herbs together in a jar. Put 1 tsp. herb in a cup and fill with boiling water. Cover and steep about 20 minutes. Traditionally dosage is 1 cup, 3-4 times a day. You should get relief within a day but continue to take for a number of days if you know when allergies are worst for you (Spring, Fall), you take 3-4 months before that season begins as a preventative. ------- cctux <cctux@...> wrote: Hi Team!Hope everyone is doing better than I am at the moment. Guest guest
Hi Cheryl. Sounds like what I've been dealing with here. Almost everyone at work has had it at one time or another recently, and now I've got it too. Some have missed up to a week of work with it, though I haven't had to take any time off. For me, I just altered my diet a little, more raw veggies and fruit, increased my Tonic intake, my Vit C, and my garlic. The first few days, when the sinuses seemed at their worst, I made a garlic paste for my feet at night. Seemed to knock it out right away. Don't know if this helps or not, but ya never know. Hope you feel better soon!!!
