Hi Bill....That could definately be part of the reason for your batteries

only lasting 4 hours. Hopefully once all the swelling goes down the audiologist

can lower the RF frequency.

You might want to wear the body processor ( assuming you have one?) until you

get the swelling under control. Might take a couple of more months for you

to get things better. I have a friend who was very swollen at first also and

her headpiece had to be held on with a sweat band!

Hi Lee...Depends on the person. Bill just got hooked up and is still

swollen...his audie thinks it will take several months. He had a delayed hookup

because he was so swollen. I don't know of anyone that took a year....but I am

sure there must be some people who took a long time. My friend had to wear the

head band for several months when she was first hooked up....then one day all

was well and her magnet started to hold and everything was fine.

Hello Bill:

Mine was swollen from the time I had my surgery till my first initial hookup.

I was concerned about the swollen but it all went down in 5 weeks. I didn't

have any problem with it but my brother had a little problem at the beginning

but it is all now just fine.

I agreed with you about CI is 300x better than Hearing Aid. After being

profoundly deaf all of my life since birth, I am hearing those amazing sounds I

have never heard before. I was in the garage and heard something...it was two

boys dribbling their basketball across the street. Yesterday I was working in

yard and all of sudden I was hearing wind chimes, radio playing, air pressure

and kids talking behind me. I even heard someone calling my name. I thank

God each day for the wonderful " gift of hearing " he has given us. Listening to

music is like a Heaven.
