Barb, There are times a dr is needed.. try finding a naturopath.. Just keep reading and searching. there is so much info out there... I don't think one can ever learn it all. Did he take the super tonice every hour? If so, how much? It is an antibiotic.. probably (now that we know what it was) should have taken an immune booster too. (once a day) On water behind the eardrum... here are some possibilities for future use.. It is said that the gunk in the sinuses needs to clear before the fluid in the ear will go away, Try sniffing up some super tonic pulp (dried and ground up) and do the steaming thing with eculyptus, tea tree, lavendar.. (Were his sinuses acting up badly during this?)Also you could try: Upon noticing your ear getting painful or plugged up, lay on your side with

that ear up, and drip a few drops of rubbing alcohol into it. The best way to do this in my experience is to twist up the end of a tissue, poke it into the alcohol bottle and get it wet, then squeeze it above your ear so that a few drops go into your ear. If you have used a Q-tip recently or otherwise aggravated the inside of your ear, this will sting, but you will get used to that. Let the alcohol sit there for a minute or two, then put a tissue over your ear and roll over to allow the alcohol to drain. The alcohol kills bacteria and more readily evaporates than water. I tried this once years ago... seemed to help some.barb g <themainers@...> wrote: First the good news.... I gave my mom some of the salve I made a little while ago for her severely cracked and dry hands. She's had that problem for years and nothing on the market

really helped her. Mine was made with olive oil, beeswas, lavender oil, tea tree oil, comfrey, goldenseal, plantain and something else I just can't remember at the moment. After only a few days she called to tell me I should be packing and marketing the stuff as a miracle. She was totally amazed at the improvement. Yeaaaa ...I gave myself a little pat on the back. The bad news..... hubby's earache got so bad that Sunday we spend half the day at the emergency room since he was in so much pain. I had tried the goldenseal boiled in water, garlic oil drops, moist heat compresses, homemade broth with a cayenne kick and super tonic and to no avail. The doc said he had water behind his eardrum (praying it wasn't from me when I put the drops in) and right now he's about 1/2 deaf. They gave him Vicodin & Zithromax (sp?). I felt like a bit of a failure and

realized after Suzi's homeopathic prescription how much more I need to learn. We both want to get away from "the system" but it didn't work out with this ailment. I'd like to think we could be self sufficient but then the pain was so bad that we broke down for instant relief. He equated the pain to "broken bone pain". Any advice how to learn to get to the next level of knowledge would be appreciated. I don't know if I need to go to school or buy special books with more advice than the normal home remedies. Let me know your thoughts. All the things I have learned from this group and other books and mags are great but I want to keep learning so that doctors are mostly a thing of our past.

Barb,I dealt with a problem similar to your husband's for a year. I lost 50% of my hearing in both ears during that time. Fortunately, it seems to have returned for the most part. I still get very bad ear pain every once in a while (usually it's related to barometric pressure), and for that I will initially try peppermint behind my ears. If that doesn't work fast enough or long enough, I *will* take Vicodin. I've come like someone else said, I don't think it's possible to *totally* avoid " the system. " For me, just finding natural ways to help *some* of my ailments has actually made the antibiotics, etc., I *do* take work better, because my body is not overwhelmed with toxins.

Matt went to the doctor today for a follow up visit and glad he did. Doc basically said it was a bad Jamaican bug. He thought when he jumped into the water his ears popped, like a plane and closed up so the water couldn't drain and was trapped in the middle ear. Of course the bacteria just kept growing, then the wonderful plane air. Both ears were very infected and the one eardrum appeared ready to burst. He did let me look at it myself which was really cool. New script and it could take up to 6 weeks for his hearing to return. The one good thing (got to try to see the positive) is that the ear I treated that caused all the pain and most of the hearing loss was not nearly as infected as the other ear. Maybe that Goldenseal and garlic oil and Super tonic did help but it wasn't strong enough to combat it completely. Makes me feel that what I did helped the situation. I did locate a

Naturopath in the local area and plan to call to see if he is seeing new patients and to make an appointment to meet and see what he is all about. Matt is also breathing in the eculyptus steam and thought tomorrow to try the tea tree oil and then the lavender to see what helps the most. He wasn't taking the tonic every hour (it's really hot stuff and goes down pretty hard) but he was taking it a few times a day. Your right Suzi, I guess I can't know it all, but I am truly loving learning all I can. I borderline hate the medical profession, even though I know there are many good doctors. One day at a time. , if you read this, you are in my prayers. I am a realtor and if there is anything I can do to help you find someone in your area to help you, just email me privately. Barb

Barb, Have Matt take the super tonic in some distilled water or juice...to take it more often when needed. Probably if he had been taking every hour along with an immune booster and you kept up the ear stuff, you may have healed it.. but glad to hear he is doing better. I always take super tonic with me on any trip. and take it daily. Suzibarb g <themainers@...> wrote: Matt went to the doctor today for a follow up visit and glad he did.
