Sorry to hear of your challenges, but feel well. itch...may try some vitamin E or even jojoba oil to sooth it over......make sure it is the healing and not infection so may want to wash it down well too.....gently... carolgangeldestiny <angeldestiny@...> wrote: Hello, I have a question. Kathy,

Sorry to hear about your shoulder surgery. How about switching the tape to a non allergic one maybe such as paper or something. I am allergic to tapes and bandaids and such as well.

Not sure about the itching. I am sure the more knowledged will reply. Maybe dab some witch hazel around the site?

Good luck and get well

Toni

It sounds as if you might not be allergic to the tape, but to the adhesive. Do you have a known latex allergy? Many, if not most tape adhesives have latex in them. I have to the minimize the use of any tape I use on my skin, even paper tape because I will either get a rash, hives or skin breakdown within a few days. As for the itching, I wish I knew what to tell you. I've had 40+ surgeries, and I'm *still* trying to find something (besides Benadryl) that will relieve the itching for more than a few minutes. I may just try the witch hazel!

it's not infected, thank goodness. Doc checked it last night.
