How about switching the tape to a non allergic one maybe such as paper or something. I am allergic to tapes and bandaids and such as well. Not sure about the itching. Will see if I have any which hazel left thank you. Guest guest Posted January 21, 2006 Report Share Posted January 21, 2006 It sounds as if you might not be allergic to the tape, but to the adhesive. Do you have a known latex allergy? Many, if not most tape adhesives have latex in them. I have to the minimize the use of any tape I use on my skin, even paper tape because I will either get a rash, hives or skin breakdown within a few days. As for the itching, I wish I knew what to tell you. I've had 40+ surgeries, and I'm *still* trying to find something (besides Benadryl) that will relieve the itching for more than a few minutes.
