Hello all,

Ya know, I would leave the borax out of this recipe... it really

shouldn't be applied to the body or used in bath salts or anything like

that. I used to use borax for such things but these days I only use it

to clean the house and laundry and to kill ants and bugs so that it is

not ingested in any way.

Peace,

Mouse

Antibacterial Foot Powder -

Formula Inspired by Better Basics for the Home, by Annie B. Bond

The downside of warmer weather is that odor-causing bacteria now have

the perfect conditions to multiply. Our feet, in particular, are prone

to problems with warm-weather odor, especially when they’re confined to

sports shoes. But with the help of a few kitchen-cupboard ingredients,

we can keep our feet feeling cool, dry, and fresh for just pennies.

Baking soda absorbs odors, while borax has antifungal properties and is

also alkaline and deodorizing. The essential oils are antimicrobial--and

they add a lovely scent.

INGREDIENTS

3 tablespoons baking soda

1 tablespoon borax

10 drops antibacterial essential oil, such as clove or rosemary

1. Combine all ingredients thoroughly and store in a glass jar with a

screw top.

2. Apply a small amount of powder to feet whenever necessary. This

formula will keep indefinitely.

Helpful Hints Please be sure to use pure essential oil, not synthetic or

fragrance oil.
