Guest guest
, I made an error with my comments on the sensitivity. Bringing it up gives him more sound so his brain has obviuosly adjusted to what he has so he's asking for more by turning it up. I'm glad you are reading the manual. I don't have sensitivity so I should not have commented but I promise you that he won't wear what he's not comfortable with. When is his next mapping? He sounds as if he needs his thresholds raised which is a good thing. If it's not soon, he could call the audiologist and check on this. The headache is probably from the magnet being too tight. It doesn't have to be super tight to give him sound and being the BWP, it's not going anywhere. I remember reading that you said he was even enjoying letting the magnets find themselves. If they are snapping on really fast, it's too strong. Try going thru this link to see if you can find an appropriate way for him to wear the processor. http://www.listen-up.org/ci/ci-pouches.htm Today should be a big day. Don't you have a lot of fireworks in Philly on the 4th? He's going to be amazed. Happy 4th of July !! Alice
Guest guest
<he finds it, then he takes it away a bit and lets it catch on his head where it wants to be!> That's too strong. You don't want them to do this. It's hard to regulate the headpieces with the magnets and spacers but if he continues to have a problem with this, you can buy moleskin (go to Walmart and in the Foot Care area you'll find this " and cut off just enough to stick on the headpiece so that it softens some of the strength between his head and the internal magnet. Having the magnet too strong can cause the skin flap to have problems which you don't want. Alice
