Guest guest
, It was simply awesome, the whole show. And the family was wonderful too. Not at all sappy, just himan. Poor Stefan, I dont think he comprehended what happened to him. LOL Lance got a BN, coolies, I missed a little, there was so much going on. I dont think he needed GPS. LOL The hosue looked gorgeous too. Amazing what they did to it. I got a kick out of the woman when she saw the demolition. *---* *---* *---* *---* *---* Never violate the Prime Directory! Guest guest
, I've been reading posts from other blind people who saw the show. Would you believe that some people thought the show negatively portrayed blindness? One person was annoyed at how often this family was called amazing. Well, considering how many years they spent living in a home that was not safe, they *were* amazing. Another person thought the designer who started crying after removing her blindfold was overreacting and couldn't begin to understand what blindness was like for Lance. Anything to criticize I guess. I plan to e-mail ABC to say " thanks " and to express just how much I enjoyed the show. For once it was nice to see a television show portray several disabilities (deafness, autism and blindness) in a positive way. Guest guest
, The problem people have is, why them why not me? Why do I have to fight for even the basic things I need to live my life? Well, this family got way more than most people would expect. They got it ALL, in one short week. But then, how long did they go without just to keep their family alive and healthy? Many people who are not disabled dont have a clue but when they get a taste of it, either they poo poo it or they realize what its like for us. I rather they cry afterwards because hey, they got an idea of it. Now if only this kind of thing was every day. I enjoyed watching this family. Society needs to realize that we get emotional because we have to fight so damn hard to get what we need. I am not talking about handouts or Come one come all, get what you want. I'm talking about we just want to be at the place where we can have our needs met without a second thought so we can be productive. Definitely, we need to see much more like this not the tripe that floods the airwaves. *---* *---* *---* *---* *---* It is impossible to travel faster than light, and certainly not desirable, as one's hat keeps blowing off. -- Woody & Gimlet (Guide Dawggie) Portland, Oregon N24C 3G 8/2000 Hookup rlclark77@... http://home.comcast.net/~rlclark77/
