toenail fungal meds.... DR PLEASE ANSWER

I have developed toenail fungus on both of my big toes. I am 2 yrs out, with

Dr R. I see on web MD that the meds affect your liver . Are any of them ok

for me to take for this? I need to get on something before it spreads. Thanks..

use vicks vapo rub directly on the nails 3X a day--rub under the

cuticle if you can and remove all the nail you can by filing the nail

thin....be careful!! i did this and i am seeing improvement! good

luck!! ps-- it takes months! but so does the oral meds....

I took the oral meds and it does work great. I took it for three months and

my doctor was very careful to do liver tests on me each month and after I had

completed the medicine. This has been four years ago...when I weighed 300

lbs. and my liver was in bad shape. I now weigh 150 lbs. and my liver in is

better shape. I would do it again, with Dr. Hargroder's blessings of course :

Dr Rutledge said I was NOT to take the oral meds- ever. To my

understanding, our livers are compromised forever. I, for one am not

going to chance it--- i will have fungus-y nails I suppose! Maybe

not, though.... the vicks is working (just a month, but i can see a

big difference in the nail that is growing back... the penlac didnt

work for me -- but it MAY work for someone else, we are all different!
