Guest guest
You started off, Kim, with a fairly low starting weight. You can’t reliably compare your results with someone who started 100 or even 150 pounds more than you did. We each lose differently and there is no real rhyme or reason to why some lose faster than others. You know all the things that help…do what you are able and willing to do and know that you have done all that you can to MAXIMIZE your chances of good weight loss. It sounds like 30 pounds for someone of your starting weight is fantastic. Just hang in there and do what you are supposed to do and what will be will be. Best of luck to you, V 11 Weeks Out and Not Losing Okay. I'm getting frustrated AGAIN. I had my surgery on November 3, 2003. Almost 3 months. I've only lost 35 pounds. I'm doing everything I'm supposed to except the Gatorade which I have replaced with V8 which is higher in sodium and potassium anyway. I've followed all the rules for the most part and yet I've not lost anything for over two weeks. What's up with this? Everyone seems to be losing about 30 the first month and 10 thereafter. Have you heard of anyone just stopping and not losing anymore this soon after the surgery? I can'y eat much but I do eat 5-6 times a day and always include a protein. I'm getting all my vitamins and meds in. HELP ME!!!!!!!!! Kim in KC 205/

Guest guest
Hi Kim... This is Kim W...I had surgery 10/20/03, so pretty close to you. I hit my first plateau 3 weeks after surgery and didn't lose again for 2 weeks, so believe me I know your frustration. I only lost 21.5 pounds the first month...and about 9 pounds the second month...I believe I am in the slow loser catagory...maybe even the queen...I decided as a long as I do what I am supposed to then I just can't stress myself out with the day to day weighing and agravation anymore. I now weigh once a week. It is sweeter to see 2-3 pounds in one wack than struggling every morning with the ½ pound volley that I was doing. It was really depressing me. I never did my measurements so I don't have the inches -vs- weight theory to fall back on...hopefully you do. It is going to come off but it just won't be as fast as we would like. I know it's hard but have patience and faith. Keep in touch and we can cheer each other on...I can't wait to get my picture on that web site after 100 pounds off...how about you!!!!! Guest guest
ARe you taking the creatine and glutamine supplements? I took those and worked out consistently. I still work out at least 4 times a week sometimes 5. I do 30-45 minutes of cardio and then about 50 minutes of weight training. It truly made a difference in my weight loss. I started out at 235 on 7/31/02 and have weighed and still weigh 124 since the end of May 2003. You can do it! Do not get discouraged! And get moving! Warmly, ALisha Ackerman
