Guest guest
The same goes for me, I can eat anything I want with no problems. I wonder how many folks that are " sensitive " now had similar conditions prior to surgery? The surgery will not change your bodys ability to tolerate certain foods. I do not post frequently, I skim all the emails to this board, but rarely post. From reading the posts it seems some folks are obsessed with this board. The board is for items related to this surgery, personal events and the like should be taken to direct email or start another board for chit chat. Not trying to make anyone mad, but I come here to keep updated on information that relates to the surgery and have gotten some good information, but there is alot of posts that do not relate to the surgery. Just my opinion. Mikee 4/9/03 310/165 with no problems. I'm with you on that, ! I too must have an iron stomach!!! I do have to admit that I change the channel if Fear Factor is on and they are eating something gross. . . other than that. . . If it's in the mouth, it's down the hatch! Guest guest
well mikee.... actually your body does change in its tolerances of certain foods... fortunately for me, it is ice cream!i used to love it but it makes me a bit nauseated now-- just as well. i am just amazed by folks who literally gag over what i would consider " normal " things. i guess somewhere there are those who feel roadkill and squid are " normal " things, i don't know. but i have heard people say that BROTH makes them gag!!! MILK makes them gag (what did they do as an infant?)a vitamin makes them gag (what do they do when they have a headache?)CORNBREAD!! there was even a gal on here once that said only velveeta shells and cheese for her that KRAFT mac and cheese makes her gag!!! geeeeeez i just cannot imagine having the same physical reaction to roadkill as i do to broth or cornbread - now i am not a fan of broth or cornbread, but i just cant imagine it actually making me gag. i really feel sorry for those with such delicate tummies. i wonder if this is just a term people are using loosely for something they dont like or just dont care for... it truly is a mystery to me...i had no idea people really ARE so queasy... that must be very VERY difficult to deal with. the " gag " thing doesnt mean much to me as my own kids said that every time they didnt want to eat something (not that the adults here do that, i am just telling a story) and i, being a K teacher, hear the " gag-thing " as a common excuse at lunchtime-- EVERYTHING makes kids " gag " -- even Little Debbie oatmeal cakes, tater tots, and apples!!lol kinda reminds me of the time my daughter brought a friend over who said she was health concious and a vegetarian (i also was once vegetarian) anyway, i made sure i had plenty of politically correct snacks and foods-- even prepared a meal that was vegan. nothing fancy, big salad, choice of dressing, and " safe " toppings... no no this kid brought her OWN vegetarian food!! well, thats ok.... until i saw what she had.... her idea of vegetarian was doritos, cheetos, candy bars, " scoops " , 3 kinds of dip, instant mac and cheese and popsicles!!! she said " meat makes me gag " " so does salad! " LMAO!! sorry, just a funny family story that seemed somewhat related.... everyone be well and keep trying to find foods that agree with you. have a great day! cathy s in va > ok....then try Keri Lotion....or try the " baby gold bond " > > i cannot get over the things that make people actually gag..... i > must have an iron stomach-- other than rotted road kill or raw > squid.... some of those scenes from fear factor, maybe.... > > am i unusual or something? no, no.... dont answer that LOL! > > be well > > cathy s in va > > >
Guest guest
I for one cannot stand KRAFT mac and cheese but like velveeta shells and cheese. But does it make me gag no it doesn't. I can't stand any kind of Gatorade but the lemon lime but do the others make me gag NO they are just to sweet. Now I have gotten sick when I tried a slice of cucumber I acutually threw it up...so I guess you could say I gagged (this was before surgery). There are cetain things I could eat before surgery such as eggs and sausage I cannot eat them now. They both make me feel sick to my stomach and I have dumped after eating sausage. Now somewhere down the line this could change but for now I have to do without. The surgery does change your bodys ability to tolerate certain foods. There are a lot of people that could have milk products pre/op but cannot tolerate them now. Just because you can eat anything doesn't mean that the next person can. But do they gag sure some might but most I think just say it if they don't like something. Now if I ate some of that stuff they eat on fear factor I know I would gag....but that stuff is some of the worse stuff ever!!! I am one that doesn't have to turn my head I watch and say oh gross!!!! The smell and the flys on some of that stuff would be enough to make most people gag!!! Putting my two cents worth in :-) KJ _________________________________________________________________ Express yourself instantly with MSN Messenger! Guest guest
" The surgery will not change your bodys ability to tolerate certain foods. " " Sorry but that just isn't true. It certainly changed my body's ability to tolerate certain foods! I still can't tolerate most meat, bread or pasta! The very things I loved most (and consumed most) before my MGB surgery!
