Guest guest
Hi Tracey, Yes, both are very important. If you have muscle issues, it will contribute to not keeping your spinal alignments right? The folks in my clinic refer people back and forth to each other and I think that's a really positive, great healing environment. As far as what to look for in a chiropractor. There are SEVERAL different methods. One that does not use hand-adjustments is called Activator. You may be able to handle these because they are gentle and work on not only joint but muscles as well. www.activator.com will give you a list of practitoners. You also want to look for their education, and their registration of course! And just because someone is older, doesn't necessarily mean they are better. I like a lot of the new younger practitioners because I find that they are right ontop of things and are constantly learning and have not become " stale " though I am sure there are many out there, who are fantastic regardless of age. The thing that I'd advise the most - is to not be afriad to ask for a referral elsewhere, or to ask for specific information. You can also call and often times get a consult over the phone. Sometimes you can get a good feel for a person and how they will work with you. I like doctors and chiros et al, that talk to me. That tell me what they are doing and why. I like to be a part of my healthcare. SO, you may want to call around. But don't be afraid to say " id really like this from you " or " i'd really like you to do this " or even " id' like to be referred elsewhere " . If they are professional, they will want you to continue care regardless of who it is with. ALSO - often they may have colleagues who you may like to work with better.
