Guest guest Posted November 5, 2006 Report Share Posted November 5, 2006 Hi Becky! Actually, Noah is quite the opposite. He has a fear of animals that saddens me. He will now pet the dogs who live on either side of him. This took a long time, but since they don't weigh 6 lbs between them, he is finally comfortable with a brief pat on their backs. He does seem to be more comfortable with cats, though. He has a fish tank, but he and his 3 yo sister got into the ProEFA and fed the entire bottle to them. They died, of course! Imagine! Feeding fish oil to the fish!!! when my dd called me with that story, she expected me to be upset...especially since I just bought that bottle. When I didn't answer her, it was because I was rolling on the floor, laughing! When she asked who did it, they both pointed at the other and said " Noah/MacKenzie did it " !!!! They went to the Farmpark for a field trip and he wouldn't go near the animals...same with the Ohio State Fair. He hated the petting zoo and would not ride the ponies! He panicked when his sister (who loves them) gave them food from her hand. Now THIS I have on video: at one point, he became upset and cried " No MacKenzie, NO!!!! " I had the camera on him and he had a look of panic on his face. All of a sudden, his eyes became wide and he took 2 steps back. I put the camera on Kenzie, just in time to capture the goat, trying to eat her white, blonde hair!!!! She started to cry as he jerked her head up, trying to enjoy his meal! It is one of the funniest things I have ever seen. They both laughed when I downloaded it onto the computer!!! Now THAT will cure his fear of animals, huh???? I LOVE the skunk story! Go figure... birds, kittens, puppies, anything cute and cuddly. But loved the skunk!!! Our kids are full of surprises. One of these days, you'll find a sweet little country kitty...black with a white stripe down his back...standing in your kitchen. will have this big grin on his face and say " Hey, mom! Look what followed me home! Can I keep him???? " sounds like such a great kid. A phrase that Libby used while giving us a tour was about the animals developing " voice imprints " , for our kids this is like the files they put people in. is highly visual and puts people in files based on where he knows them from. I have gotten to the point that when comes in from outside I have himstand at the door and empty his pockets. I have found worms, beetles, lady bugs, potao bugs, you name it in his pockets in the past. Right now his big thing is he says there is a snake living under our patio. Now mind you we have looked, there is the old concrete porch under there, no grass or dirt, there are leaves. But we have never seen a snake. I can just picture your son standing there with his pockets hanging inside out, as God's little critters slither and crawl out onto your kitchen floor! If there IS a snake living under your patio, is probably feeding him eggs and bacon each morning before he goes to school. Better set an extra plate at dinner time!!! My boy doesn't like to touch certain kinds of animals because of the possible germs he might get! The first time he was at the aqua petting display at the cleveland zoo, he refused to touch the stingrays etc. Thankfully, he got over his phobia on the second visit, cause he thought they were cool to touch!
