The conference brought together business leaders, representatives ofpublic vocational rehabilitation agencies and other stakeholders with aninterest in the transition and employment of students and young adults withdisabilities. The conference featured interactive training, successfulprograms in high-growth industry careers, and effective strategies forachieving successful post-school outcomes for youths and young adults withdisabilities. Materials are being posted on the Web site at http://www.gwu.edu/~rrcepunder National Employment Conference. We will continue to update this siteas presenter materials are received.RSA recognizes and thanks CSAVR, Washington University, the steeringcommittee, and the employers and presenters who contributed to thetremendous success of the conference.At the conference, OSERS Assistant Secretary Hager released the latestversion of the Disability Employment 101 publication http://www.ed.gov/about/offices/list/osers/products/employmentguide/index.html and released the new companion brochure, Disability Employment 101 For Your Businesshttp://www.ed.gov/about/offices/list/osers/products/employmentguide/eg101-brochure.html. This brochure targets small- and medium-sized businesses that may or may not have thought of increasing their hiring pool by hiring employees with disabilities. OSERS looks forward to continued partnerships with employers to achieveAmerica's goal of gainful employment for all. We hope that this brochurewill prove to be a helpful resource for employers who recognize that hiringthe best employees, with or without disabilities, is the cornerstone tosustained success and positive bottom-line results.
