Special Notes Regarding the August Meeting* September’s meeting is open discussion (ie. no speaker is scheduled) * Game tables will be availbale on the far side of the room for those youths who would like to participate in a quite game of Chess or quite card games. General Meeting InformationDARN meetings are usually scheduled for the 1st Monday of each month except when there is a National Holiday on or close to the first Monday of the month (ie. New Years, Memorial Day weekend, Independence Day weekend, and Labor Day weekend). When this occurs, we advance the meetings to the following Monday. Our meeting are from 7:00 to 8:30 at Christ United Methodist Church (CUMC) located at 3340 Shroyer Road in Kettering, OH (adjacent to the Fraze Pavilion, Fairmont High School, Kettering Municipal Building). CUMC’s contact information is 293-3151 and <http://www.Christumc.org/>.Parents, family, professionals, individuals with ASD, and mature youths with ASD are all welcome to join our discussions which cover issues and concerns related to ASD, PDD-NOS, High Functioning Autism (HFA), and related disorders. Privacy RightsBy attending a DARN support group meeting you are agreeing:* To respect and protect the privacy rights of every person & /or service provider present or mentioned.* To regard any personal information that is disclosed as being confidential. * To obtain prior consent from the coordinator(s) and those who are in attendance if you would like to use a recording devise. In order to protect the privacy rights of those who are in attendance or mentioned during a DARN meeting, recording devices of any kind are not permitted in or during any portion of any DARN meeting or event without the express written consent of the coordinator(s) and those who are in attendance. Child Care During MeetingsThe church has firm regulations on who can provide child care in their facility (ie. interviewed, back ground checked, trained, covered by their insurance, etc...). Child care for our monthly meetings is provided by the church’s hired staff. The cost for child care is $2.00 per child. Child care money will be collected during the meeting. Child care is available only by RSVP request and must be made directly to Christ UMC at 293-3151 prior to 3:30 P.M. on the Wednesday prior to our meeting. (Opps! You can try calling the Church anyway.) This allows the child care coordinator to schedule child care providers and arrange for coverage of individual providers if the individual providers know in advance that they are going to be unavailable to provide their support services. If you change your mind and do not need the child care provider for that night, please call and cancel as soon as possible. Otherwise, the Church is paying for someone to sit in an empty room and they will discontinue to offer this service. The church does require that you supply the disposable items your child will need to have a successful experience during their visit (ie. diapers, pull-ups, wipes, change of clothes, etc...).
