- You are pretty smart to look for help before the age of 3. My son

is 7 now, but when he was 2, we started to see some symptoms. I didn't act

- didn't look for help - because I too thought we had to wait 'til he was 3.

I was wrong. The school district works with children ages 3 through 21.

Before that, I believe it's the county's job - EI, or Early Intervention.

I'm not quite sure what Cuyahoga County's contact numbers are.

Also, you would want to get your son qualified for MRDD. They have

different programs that have sliding scales based on parent's income.

You'll also get a case manager who would hopefully know more about different

programs/services your child qualifies for. I bet the phone book under

Cuyahoga County Board of Mental Retardation and Developmental Delay would

have their number.

Hopefully other parents on this list from Cuyahoga County would be able to

help you out more specifically. Chris

Our son was getting assistance at age 2 from Help Me Grow. I would

contact them and they will put you in touch with all of the right

people. You will qualify for Family Resourse Dollars through there

as well. If there is a diagnosis of Autism and you are in a lower

income bracket you can look into having your son receive SSI

payments as well to help fund his therapies and schooling and other

needs he may have. Your help me grow rep can help you with this as

well....if I can be of any help.. you can reach me on here, IM,

email or my phone is in the database! :)
