This is a subject near and dear to me. Christ didn't come for the "perfect" or "typical" individuals, but for everyone, including their disabilities. And I think the church is the one place that should/needs to accept everyone. Well, I've been musing over in my mind what exactly is needed in the churches that individuals with disabilities and their families need to be accepted and feel accepted in the church. Any thoughts? Chris Yes, there should be awareness provided to all the congregation about the disability. Then I think people should be charged to think of ways to include this child/person in the normal activities of the church. What needs to be altered to make that happen? Who could change something and help? People should ask these questions. Maybe the church should adopt an oversight committee that takes care of those concerns?
