Guest guest
Just an update on my son. I took him to Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh, due to the draining of the blood and pus. He was first checked out at the Er by 2 Dr's which couldn't believe what they saw. He was then sent upstairs to the ENT Dr. The tube was in the canel in his right ear along with lots of pus and blood. The Dr. removed the tube along with some of the drainage. He said the ear drum is so retracted he couldn't see a thing, plus a major infection. He put him on Floxin drops and Augmentin and is going to schedule a ct-scan in 10 days to see what the c-toma is doing. He believes he is going to need reconstructive surgey first then surgery again to put tube in place. Sam is 4 and such a little trooper. They suctioned his ear for about 10-12 mins and he didn't cry until the last minute. By the way, I called the Dr who put the tubes in and left a message to see in the drainage was normal. He called back, saying yes, see him in two weeks. Can't ever be sure about Dr's. If you feel you need a second opinion get one! I'm glad I took him elsewhere, I can't imagine what it would have been like in two weeks!
