Guest guest
I just received a big packet of free information from the Ohio Coalition for the Education of Children with Disabilities. It includes mainly information on IEPs and IDEA and FBA, etc etc. Excellent resource. Each county has its own OCECD, and if you'd want this info as well, you could call 1-800-374-2806 and ask for the number of your county's OCECD. They also have a parent advocate who can give advice. My first reaction was, how nice! A needed resource for parents!! Then I thought, what's wrong with this picture?:First taxpayers pay for schools. BUT WAIT! The schools were choosing not to teach children with disabilities! So our tax supported congress had to spend time crafting what is now IDEA. BUT WAIT! Schools were counting on parents being ignorant of federal law to evade properly teaching children with disabilities. So we are taxed once more to support agencies, like OCECD, to force schools to obey the law via embarrassment. What a waste of money.
