Dr. Duby must have been on his best behavior the day we were there :-). He was quite congenial, good thing, I have limited patience for rudeness.

Is Dr. Hull a psychiatrist?

I may be wrong, but thought CAPD encompassed a more debilitating auditory disorder, but I will do some research.

I have met some kids who will come out with all kinds of facts they know to anyone who meets them, she does not do that, or does not get her attention from what she knows.

Sounds like our next step is to see an audiologist to rule out the CAPD, thanks Roxanne/, very helpful.

No, Dr. Hull is an MD doctor. I believe Dr. Dooby was abrupt with people so maybe bedside manner was not good? A friend of mine said he was so awful and chewed her out for not having her child potty trained yet. Then he got on her because she was "looking for another dx" for the child, who already had a few dx's not related to autism. We had him come talk to our local autism group a long while back and he did a nice job. But I've never gone to him with one of my kids.

Have you looked into CAPD issues (also called APD)? My ds enjoys being smart and if people tell him he's smart, he responds, "Why, of course I am." He still talks formally a lot but he's fun at any rate.
