Guest guest
I have a 6 yr old autistic son, who has made such wonderful progress. Stemming had really reduced to only once in a while. We've recently moved from NY back to Ohio, I thought I had an idea of what to expect but the trauma of such a big move and disrupting his entire world has thrown him for a loop, we have bad stretches and then we had off the charts bad stretches. Some days are mostly okay then we regress again. I can tollerate this very slow transition and I will always with love and patience help him through the changes but he's started picking INCESENTLY at his fingers and toes. I have tried it all, liquid bandaid, taping socks around the ankles (YES CAREFULLY) It takes constant eyes on him or distraction otherwise he gravitates back to the picking, even when he gets a raw spot which is just shy of becoming a wound he acts unresponsive to the pain, unless I try to check it out then he'll winse and pull away. I've never used meds with him before and I am not an advocate for the use of drugs. (Thats not a crack against those who do there is a time and a place, I've just been blessed so far not to use them. I want to relieve his stress level. We've just moved 5 weeks ago, I haven't found a new Craniosacral therapist yet, WHich at this point indroducing new people would only stress him more. Would welcome any thoughts or suggestions Humbly Kim (Josiah's momma)
