Sorry about your other list, others are missing your great advice.

Probably they don't think so. lol.

People are often too "touchy feely" for my taste. Even within a group of people dedicated to ABA, you find the touchy feely types who are swayed by what sounds nice over what is fact or what works. That's not all bad really. Life should have soft edges. It just clashes sometimes with me because I like to focus on end results and for that reason, I like things that are said to make sense. People who blather on without a point or who contradict themselves all the time can make me nuts. It causes me to write and say, "Hey, what did you mean because it makes no sense." Instant enemy, let me just tell you. lol.

Anyway, I have a person who thinks, everytime I post, it is about her, her her. I posted a comment of something and she turned it into a mean spirited attack against her, which it isn't except that she is a person who might fit the profile of a group I was discussing. Instantaneously, I was an evil leper. I am so happy she is not here on this list because she is on every other list I have been on. And she is always more "popular" because she uses the "poor me" approach. lol. I couldn't do that if I tried and have never been good at "sucking up." When we have sucking up to do here in our local area, my friends joke that I should be quiet and let them do the talking. <g> I can be nice and all that so it isn't that bad - just a fun joke because I get annoyed when I have to suck up. lol.

Also my friends will note that I am "impatient" or "quick to anger." I really am not quick to anger at all so I find that puzzling. I am probably more patient than the average person is. I mean, my oldest w/autism is 17 yo. How long must one wait for services that work before they are allowed to get a little peeved? lol. So I feel like I've been overly patient in the grand scheme of life. I just don't like being put off any longer because these kids have no time to wait. And when I convey that, I am totally serious and it comes off as if I am on a mission - which I am - but which isn't good when you have to butt kiss your way up the food chain (like at schools.)

Oh well, I'm now giving my life history. I have an MFE/IEP this morning for the 17 yo who is being tutored at home because he no longer can go to school. So I finished writing my thoughts and organizing everything and now I'm just full of anxiety about getting it right because we have so little time left to do anything. This makes me want to discuss anything BUT my meeting/son. lol.

Anyway, I am just relieved to have a place with interesting people without that person here causing me grief! Yeah!

No, is fine, I am learning/remembering a lot, but appears that most know about/employ ABA methods.

Sorry about your other list, others are missing your great advice.

Wow, now I am feeling like Roxanne did, so many more who are experts on ABA and seems that is the main focus of this group.

Sorry. It was just a good subject to spin to. I am on an ABA list and I can't seem to post or discuss without this other chick making my life miserable. So I have thrust my energies upon you all. lol. I think too much, type too fast...it's a bad bad thing...But this is a topic I can discuss! lol. When you all start discussing vitamins and such, I'll be the quiet one!
