I know myself I ate tuna fish at least 3 times a week during my pregnancy thinking the protein was good for me and the baby. To find out later that maybe it was not a good thing to eat so much of it. I did not touch tuna during my pregnancy with my daughter and she is fine. Not sure if there is a link. Just a question I was thinking about. Not to worry. I wouldn't go near tuna because I hate it. I have two boys with autism, 5 kids total. Roxanna ô¿ôDon't take life too seriously; No one gets out alive.

Guest guest
- I don't think I ate any fish when I was pregnant. But in our family's case, I think it's mainly genetic. I have 2 nephews on the spectrum. I think the genes predispose some in our family for autism, and then an insult to the brain causes it to develop. Auto-immune disorder? Hmm. When I was pregnant with all 3 children, my amniotic fluid was very low. My OB/GYN did some testing and told me that it was due to an autoimmune issue (ALA??). Guest guest
I didn't eat tuna during my pregnancy. However, I did have about ten amalgam fillings put in six months before I became pregnant. I also have another theory. When I was preg w/ my first son (typical) We lived in a basement apartment. There was strange black stuff growing on the walls that I used bleach to get rid of. I now know that it was black mold. Since then, I have developed allergies to molds, dust, and cats. I was also diagnosed with an autoimmune thyroid disorder soon afterwards. My second son (autistic) was born after all of this and the mercury load in my system from the amalgam fillings.....?? I believe that it was a combo of those things, then all his shots w/ Thimerasol....BINGO! ----- Original Message ----- From: Biehl Sent: 4/26/2006 10:12:10 AM Subject: [ ] me again It's me again. Guest guest
Obviously there is a lot of variance in individuals (as we all know). Just wondering what you'll use the info for? If it's just personal info or will you use it get your school system to do something. If it's about the school then your best place to look is in the state's content standards and curriculums. I don't have it in front of me, but when you look it will tell you if it's something that is being worked on in that year. Schools won't usually put/have to put something in an IEP (Individual Education Plan/Program) that is in the content standards/curriculum as they only have to help them 'access' the curriculum. If I remember correctly, and this is from memory, writing is not expected knowledge of a kindergartner and is probably in the curriculum for first graders... > > Does anyone know if a k- or 1st grader should know how to write and spell there last name? Just wondering. My 4 year old (typical God I hate that phrase) can do it but my 6 year son can't. Guest guest
My autistic son (just turned 8) started sometime this year in second grade, although he only capitalizes the last name 50% of the time. My other son started at the beginning of age 3. My just turned 4 year old daughter can do her first name but has not asked how to spell our last name. Have you tried magnetic letters? > > Does anyone know if a k- or 1st grader should know how to write and spell there last name? Just wondering.
