I've had the reconstruction done at the same time of the removal.

I've actually had this done twice. The only problem that I had was

dizziness and the pain. It's just really intense, but I think you

have a good doctor it will be worth it.

I had three procedures done in the same operation: mastoidectomy, tympanoplasty and ossicular reconstruction. I had it all done in November 1999, here in the UK. However, as you say, it does seem to be the norm in this group, that reconstruction is done some months after cholesteatoma removal.

That is what I had done twice! I liked having it all done at once. I

had little problem.
