Guest guest
Hello April, I know exactly what you mean I had my 1st c-toma operation last August and it took about 8 months before I could lay on it again properly, and although it has been nearly a year know since my operation my ear still feels numb and aches when I lay on it for a long time. Hold on in there the pain does get better. Zoe. > I was wondering if anyone else who had surgery had a hard time > laying on the ear the surgery was done on. Guest guest
I had my surgery in May and it's only very recently that I have been able to sleep on that side without feeling very uncomfortable. This recovery is taking a whole lot longer than I ever imagined. le ---------- >From: aprildr2 <aprildr2@...> >cholesteatoma >Subject: Question about post surgery >Date: Tue, Jul 13, 2004, 10:29 PM > > I was wondering if anyone else who had surgery had a hard time > laying on the ear the surgery was done on. For me it cuts down on the little noises > that goes away that keep you awake... 20-odd years later, I still tend to sleep on my good ear. It's not so much painful but it can feel weird. I also find that there some amount of fluid in my sinuses etc that will drain into my ear overnight. I don't like that to happen. Tom's right that it does filter out a lot of noise. However, I hear enough that I can get myself in a state about what that noise was. That's when I do sleep on my good ear so I can hear what's really going on. Guest guest
This is normal, it takes a while to heal. Lynn -- Question about post surgery I was wondering if anyone else who had surgery had a hard time laying on the ear the surgery was done on. And if so about how long until you felt comfortable to lay on it? The reason I'm asking is because I had surgery June 30th and I still find it uncomfortable and almost painfull to lay of the ear. It feeld like I am forcing my ear to my head and I am still wierded out by the way anything touches my ear since it feels different. If anyone has a comment i would appreciate it. Thanks.April
