Wow, if I didn't know better, I would think you are stalking me haha! Wish I could get back the Missouri, I love Houston, But St. Louis is where I consider home.

The doctor I have seen for years has turned to oncology treatment at the Center. The new BAHA specialist I am seeing is a Dr. Chole. The number for the Center is 800-437-5437 or 314-747-2032 ( in case the 800 doesn't work in the state some are like that) They are very good. It is Washington University School of Medicine Division of Adult Audiology. I am very conservative about my ears, I only have one that works, - - - sometimes -- - and not well at best. Dr. Chole, won my confidence the moment he said, you must never let anyone operate on these ears, it would be far to dangerous. Which is what the surgeon had been saying for 30 years. There is so much scar tissue they would never heal again. Anyway - - - there is the info try these web sites for more info. http://wuphysicians.wustl.edu/audiology and http://oto.wustl.edu

Good luck, and stay in touch to let me know how things go.

Sandi, What a small world :-) I too used to live in Grand Rapids. But that was almost 40 yrs ago. I was about 4 yrs old at the time. I then moved to Southeast Missouri ( about 150 miles south of St. Louis ). Then I moved to Dallas where I lived for about 18 yrs and now I am back in SE Missouri. Question, who is your doctor in St. Louis ? I am looking for an otologist or an experienced ENT now that I am back in Missouri. Most all of my c-toma problems were taken care of by a neurotologist in Dallas. I also wear a BAHA on both ears so I really need a good doctor in Missouri who is familiar with c-toma and BAHA. Thanks for any information you can give me. IlonaSDSSandie@... wrote: You live in Grand Rapids? How Strange??? I used to live on s Lake when I lived there. I hear my old house is for sale again, for about 15 times more than I sold it for in the 70's!!! My left ear had the same problem and they did not reconstruct, because at that time the right ear was "normal" what ever that is. The right ear "got sick" a couple of years later. I went to a different doc Dr. Wringenberg or something like that. In my mind he was a saint. Very old at the time so I am sure he is gone by now. When I moved from GR to St Louis he referred me to Wash U and another wonderful Doc. I have been seeing him since 1976 we have grown old together Ha Ha ( he more so than I!!!) I have lived in Houston for the

past 25 years but have continued my care with him, traveling to STL as needed. I credit him for preserving what hearing I have. My left has always been at a 80-90% loss the right used to be at 25-30% loss and I got along fine until the last few years when the "old bones" started to tumble. At some point the wire they used to conduct sound from the stapes to the foot plate, disappeared! my hearing took a shift then and has gone down hill ever since to where I am currently at 60% loss. I'm looking into BAHA now that's how I got into this chat site. Good Luck Sandi Lochner
