achondroplasia and scuba diving

Has anyone with achondroplasia tried scuba diving? We are taking a

trip to Australia and will be scuba diving. It would be a great time

for our 13 y/o son to learn, but we're a little uncertain whether this

would be good for him. We know that the tanks can be large and heavy

and we're concerned about what the pressure may do to his body. We

know that he, like all with achondroplasia have some spinal stenosis.

Was wondering if the pressure of diving would cause problems.

Would appreciate hearing from anyone with experience.

Thanks
