Guest guest
He's a wise young man ahead of his time. Wonderful idea in " my " humble opinion. We've talked about his great skills before in this area and evidently he's ready to educate his peers, present and future. Give him a " high five " for me, he's the best. > Hi all, > My son came to me tonight and asked if he could hold an assembly at the middle school. It seems that he has asked and decided to have an assembly informing his fellow middle-schoolers about his dwarfism. He wants 7th and 8th graders there first so he can address the grades that are above him and his future high school peers. > > I swear this is the most inovative and best idea I have ever heard. He tried this out on my students last year (second grade) and was a huge hit with them. > > His thought now is that he is entering high school soon and if he reaches them ahead of time it will bode better for him in the long run. I love the thought behind it. ly, I think this kid has the best mind and attitude of anyone I ever met. > > What are the collective thoughts on this? > Willow > >
Guest guest
As former VP of PR I was head of the Community Outreach Program and I've gone to schools addressing dwarfism and tolerance. I would be more than happy to be a sounding board for Jarrod and share some of my experience with him. I think this is awesome and wish him all the best! Yes, I support the idea of having an assembly at your son's school. My folks had one for me and my brother and it really was great! It wonderful that your son has taken the innitive (sp?) and I believe you should support him 100% Let us know how it goes!!
