Guest guest
Helen, So sorry to hear about your cat. We also have animal children and lost one a year ago. It is difficult, but eventually you just remember the love. I hope all goes well for you. Kim
Guest guest
Hey Helen, I am so sorry to hear of your cat's death. My cat Toby was put to sleep in June. He was 17 years old and had kidney failure. It was a hard decision but he was suffering and the best gift we could have done was to do that for him. I had him since I was 7 years old. He was the last thing I had of my parents, he was my connection to the " old " life I had. Pets are very important and I recommend to people that they are a full time commitment, emotionally, physically, and financially. If a person can't meet those then don't get a pet. Also PLEASE keep your cats inside, indoor cats live loooonger than outdoor cats. An outdoor cats general life span is less than 5 years (pretty sad) while indoor cats life span is way longer than that Also your cat can get hurt by other animals or people if you let them roam. We don't live in the jungle people! We have cats in our neighborhood that roam which is the worst idea ever, one person's cat has been missing for weeks and I am pretty sure its dead. If you had a kid, you wouldn't let them roam so please don't let you cats do! Lastly Helen and others if you do decide to get another pet please check into the humane society. There are cats that are on " death row " if they aren't adopted with in a certain time. Cats need a good home and those poor cats are the throw away cats. When I am ready to get a cat when I move out I am going there and I am going to get an older cat so I can by-pass the kitten years. Just something to think about! - __________________________________________________
Guest guest
I had a dog, that we had to put to sleep a while back. It was a German Shepard, Rotweiler, girl, boy mix. Literaly. Anyway, when we had to put my gram's dog to sleep a few weeks ago, my mom and grama were sad sincethe dog ( a different one than mine) was only 7 yrs old. She was supposed to live into her teens, but she had something wrong inside her and she was an inside dog. A few yrs ago, we had to take my cat Thom into the Dr to have surgery for his ear, but he had a heart attack during surgery, so we lost him. He was an indoor cat, but went outside occassionaly-bathroom. He was trained to let us know when he wanted in or out. It was cute. We have gotten a couple new cats since then. They stay insid during the winter and are ussually outside except for food during the summer. They are sisters, and hilarious. A friend of my mom's gave them to us, siince they couldn't keep them. Cats are cute and fun to have. I have recently heard of a dog that's trained for the hearing impaired, and my mom and I are thinking about looking into it since Im off to college next yr. It will help me with my hearing loss, yet help with things I need really fast- dropping a pen on the sidewalk I better stop rambling.. Guest guest
Thanks to all who e-mailed me about Jade. I appreciated very much the kind and thoughtful words that were said. Jade will always have a special place in my heart. Although no one will ever replace her I did get another cat a male named Powder. His personality reminds me of Jade. He is cute, but such a devil. ;-) It worked out for the two of us. He needed a home and I had room in my heart for another animal. I suggest to anyone who is ever faced with my situation. There are always animals out there Cats and Dogs who need good homes. You give them a home with love and you will be rewarded more than words can say...
