I don't! I get someone else to!

Meaning, as with the seperator, and anything else we (Lin and I) can't reach

in a supermarket, our magic words, " Excuse me, can I borrow your arms? "

works every time! And always, when we then say " Thank you " , we get replies

similar to " No problem " .

Mind you, usually when the person in front sees us beginning to stack OUR

groceries next to THEIRS, they panic, thinking THEY are gonna be paying for

ours, and quick as a flash, a separator materialises!

Cheers

I shop online and have my groceries delivered to my house.

However, in the rare instances where I do go to the store, once I toss

something into my cart, I can't reach back into it to retrieve them

anyway, so I just park the cart next to the counter and ask someone to do

it for me. Invariably they take care of the separator issue

automatically.

Casey,

I usually just ask, or often the person in front of me will kindly

place the divider in. Sometimes I'll stick my keys right in front

instead so that works too (since us Californians have so many lame key

club cards to scan anyway).

BTW - sick of Ralph Nader? For the DNC or the GOP sake? couldn't resist

biting. I already wrote to him, he's going to be the most-hated person

if Bush wins come Nov. Ok, that's enough of politics coming from me

before a tomato hits my head.

> That is really a universal thing, Casey~ I will run into that sometimes as

well. I think they are afraid they will end up paying for more groceries, and

that's it. If you just have a few items, just put them into a basket, usually

under the front of the belt. That is easier to reach, and it separates the

items. Just let the checker take them out. That's what I do sometimes.

> On another topic, I just saw that Ralph Nader is running for president now~ I

am sick to my stomach!! Time to head to the grocery store for some Tums! I will

use a basket if I get a dirty look! :D
