Guest guest
Hey Fred, there is a way to cath and reach......lol It's called a vasacostomy. (NOTE: NOT vasectomy!), okay, stop laughing Dr. Ain!) It's done through the belly button, like my daughter has. As for the butterfly, we had to fight dog, tooth and nail to get some nurse to understand that is what Mandy needed. We finally got it put in her hospital records because I was tired of trying to be nice to people who 'don't do butterflies.' Well, they had better learn. LOL Smiles, Debi Hoggan Fred <mail@...> wrote: Long story, about to be cut short! Well, I'll TRY to cut it short. About a year ago I went to the doc because me water was 'strong'. There followed a succession of visits to the urology department where they determined I was not emptying properly! Told them this was probably because of the Achondroplasia, having constriction in the lower spine which controlled the bladder and bowels. Nah! they wouldn't have it! Did tests, yup, you are holding liquid! Left the hospital, and before I reached the car, just HAD to go behind a bush! Suffice to say, the bush won't need watering for the rest of the year! In the meantime, legs give out, spinal decompression. Back to Urology Department for long standing appointment. Explained the decompression and how it was in the lower spine. He (specialist) asks for water sample. Have you ever tried to give a sample when you know dam nicely there aint nothun there to sample?????? then does an ultra-sound(?), (after asking me to lie down on a bed as high as my shoulders and I give him a look which says " You are out of your tiny little mind " ) and yup, still holding about a pint of liquid! He decided to wait a couple of months for the spine to settle down again. BUT, if I am still holding water, he is talking self catheterisation!!!!!!! Fine! How the bl***y hell do they expect someone to do that when it takes that person all his bl***y time just reaching the equipment!!!!!! End of moan:-) Hang on, no isn't. He wanted a blood test! Fine - no not fine, Fred knew what was coming! " Sit down please " I looked at her, I looked at the giant chair, I looked back at her and said, " I'll stand. " She approaches with LARGE needle and a cuff for the upper arm. " You'll need to get it out of the back of my hand and you will need a butterfly " . " Oh, I've never done butterfly! " Goes and gets colleague! Colleague walks in " Sit down please. " Fred just about SCREAMS! Colleague goes for upper arm. " You'll have to get it out of the back of my hand. " Colleague bends to hand and Fred gets wonderful view down valley! Oh, the pleasure of pain:-)))))) Definitely end of moan:-))))) Sorry, but at times like this I really DO hate being dwarf! I get so dam frustrated! And that is before we even attempt to get out of the car park where we are supposed to pay at a machine a mile up the wall !!!!! Ah I feel better now:-) Thanks for being such good listeners. ===
