Hey Mike,

I'm 24 now and have been in the LPA on and off all of my life. About 2 years

ago, I was dating an average size person and took her to a regional. She

didn't seem to have a problem with being around nothing but lp's. She seemed to

enjoy herself quite a bit.

As for getting stares and people making comments, I'm sure there was some of

that.. I noticed some of the stares, however, my situation was a bit

different being that it involved 2 females.. not a male and a female. But other

than

that, everyone seemed to welcome us both without a problem.

Like Amy, I have brought an AP companion, male though, to an LPA

Regional about 5 yrs ago. No one was at all rude or stared at why an

AP/LP were together. In fact, everyone made him comfortable and he

even went out to smoke with the smokers since smoking is not allowed

inside anymore.

It is the 'outside' world where we got stares, depending what part of

town we were in. He being AP and African-American and I being LP and

caucasian.

It is sad how this world still judges by appearance.

Hmm not all of us short men suffer from that condition thank you . The only

reason I have never dated a LP lady tis I have yet to find any other than a

friend of mine here named , and we went out a couple times but I have known

her so long it was like dating my sister. The shortest female I have dated was

5' 3 " tall and she went nuts and is stalking me to this day (which I might add

she was still taller than me lol). And yes I agree we all tend to stare, I do it

cause I am a very attentive person and when I see someone I try to take in the

whole picture of the person. As in I see a lady in a wheelchair... I look at her

face and eyes, then I look at how she moves the chair, by these observations one

can tell weather she is independent, new to the chair and in need of advice and

etc. So don't take all staring badly and don't judge all of us short men by

the couple you have encountered.

You know what??? I am a 40 yr old achon and I have found no matter who you

are what you are doing and who you are with .... people stare. I'm guilty of

it. Whether its a beautiful woman and you wished you looked half that good or a

good looking man or perhaps someone missing a limb or in a wheelchair ... my

point you don't have to be strange or beautiful you'll always have someone

stare. If you feel good inside and feel confident you will survive .... I do!

Does that help? I have only dated men that were 6 ft and taller my shortest

date was 5'5 and he was a bigger ass then the taller ones because he suffered

from that short mans syndrome and he only wanted to date someone shorter than

him he didn't really like me for me.... so LP's are what I'm interested in now

more and you know, if peps are going to stare and not one but two shrimps I say

" LET EM " haha

Hi:

Being only 4/10 most women I have dated were taller than me. Well wait a

minute here! All the women I have dated have been taller than me. But

still I wouldn't rule out ever dating someone shorter than me.

My experience is the first thing I have to do when dating a taller woman is

trying to get her to feel at ease dating someone shorter than me.

So at least if I ever date someone shorter than me we are already past this

point and we concentrate on the important things that make up our

relationship.
