Guest guest
About the hip data base. The hip data base is an opportunity for you to say how your surgery went and I would encourage all hippies to put something about their THR on the data base. (There is another for knees and even another for dislocations) The hip data base could be useful for people to read who are planning to have a THR. So the more people who had their details and a comment the more useful it will become to those who follow. It is less useful if only those with problems post op add their details. To read entries on the data base go to Joint Replacement/database?method=rep\ ortRows & tbl=3 Please add a separate entry for every operation. Primary means if you are having the hip done for the first time - revision is when the hip is being redone. If you don't know what kind of hip you have just put unknown. If you haven't added your details here is how to do it: Go to the list home page - You might have to log in. Joint Replacement then click on database (left hand side), Click on THR, click on add record, and add your details. An alternative way is to go straight to Joint Replacement/database?method=add\ Record & tbl=3 and add your details. Guest guest
Didn't know it was OK to add myself. I have and will try to remember to keep it up to date as recovery progresses. Guest guest
Hi all, This is my first message in this group, not meaning that I am completely uneducated in the hip department. So that is why I wondered if the data base taken up here really only is intended for THR devices? Since this is a group for all Total Joint Replacements, as I understood it, shouldn't it have been better with an all including data base, allowing the other replacement options also? Guest guest
I think there is a knee database also, Ron. It is separate, because knees are different than hips. Welcome!!! Guest guest
Hi Ron, People are using the list to record resurfacing. Resurfacing is actually not a total joint replacement, but I feel it is useful for people to have that information so have left the resurfacing enteries on. Check out the data base. Anyone can add an entry. Aussie Margaret RTHR 1990 revised 2004 > > Thanks Barbara, > > But how about the other hip resurfacing implants BMHR and BHR?
