Guest guest
Have you had any physiotherapy? I found that the exercises recommended by my PT have been really good at working the muscles I need to enable me to walk straight and with no limp. At your stage I was still on 2 crutches - restrictions for the first 6 weeks while the joint capsule healed, but once they were lifted and I began physio in earnest I began to see the benefits. I do my exercises every day, and have been told to continue to do that - the muscles need a lot of work to get back. A PT would be able to assess you and recommend the best things for you to do. I went back to work after 12 weeks, but before then I was spending around 2 hours a day exercising and then doing a walk as well. I would think that it would be good for you to get up and walk aroung quite often because the muscles get very stiff if you sit for too long. All the best Lesley LTHR 17.1.
Guest guest
I am a HUGE believer in physical therapy. Try to get your doc to write an Rx for a few sessions at least. The PT can show you specific exercises for strengthening those abductors and glutes. Walking does help, no doubt, but those strengthening exercises will take you to the " next level. Guest guest
I had the same thing last year, after my thr. mainly due to the muscles being stretched by about 3 inches.. I would suggest as much swimming as possible and noo impact stretching..
