You may want to consider the # of hip operations performed by the surgeon, the hospital where they are performed and most important the reputation of the surgeon. Talk to his patients,visiting nurses, salesmen who sell the prostheses, and doctors. SUZANNE SNYDER <juneflower60@...> wrote:

Maybe one suggestion would be to visit the ortho ward at the hospital that

He/She/? is operating at, and quiz the nurses, ground staff.. they will

always know everything! I did that, cried my way through the ward (codeine

overload), and was put completely at ease before mine..

Penny,

I read somewhere that your weight has to be proportionate to your

height in order to be a candidate for this surgery. I also read that

the first surgery of this type was done in Chicago at Rush hospital.

The web site is rush.edu, or something like that. There is quite a
