Guest guest
i set my home page up so i can receive info on hip replacements. Today i got this one on the anterior approach. i've been thinking about having this done on my other hip. i had the traditional THR on my right hip march 1 and am doing great, but i dont look forward to another long recovery period with restrictions. go to www.dailynews.com then scroll down 3/4 of the page. you cant miss the article. there is a picture of someones hips with two new implants. excellent and informative piece. margo
Guest guest
This is the procedure I had. Except for the dislocation, i am happy with the surgery. I am already walking about 1/4 miles twice a day ( full weight bearing). i recommend everyone look into this approach. Guest guest
here, here, I also had this approach and I am doing everything I did before the surgery only more. I was told at my 6 wk. check up that I could do anything that I did before the surgery without going overboard. It is wonderful. If your dr. won't do this procedure then I would look into another dr. that is on the cutting edge. ____________________________________________________ Start your day with - make it your home page http://www./r/hs
Guest guest
i am checking into this. I have been doing a lot of research. The doctors are pretty good in this area( I'm from troy, michigan). hopefully, it won't take me too long to find a doc that can do this and hopefully i am a good candidate for it. I was ready to have my other hip done this coming october. this may delay things a bit. hope not!! margo foley peg <pegfol@...> wrote: here, here, I also had this approach and I am doingeverything I did before the surgery only more. Guest guest
good luck to you. I am sure it will be wonderful outcome with the right dr. I was lucky enough to be able to stay with family in Pa. for my surgery. I live in Fla. and wasn't too sure about having the procedure done down here. I am now having problems with my knee on the other leg and wouldn't think of going anywhere except back to Pa. to have any procedure done for my knee because I was so happy with my THR. ____________________________________________________ Start your day with - make it your home page http://www./r/hs

Guest guest
I had my surgery at the Nazareth Hosp.in the northeast section of Phila. About 2 yrs. ago or so the Rothman Insti. made some kind of deal with Nazareth Hosp. to open up 2 state of the art operating rms. for replacements. From what I understand at the grand opening they had dr. etc. from all over coming to see the facility there. The whole one floor of the hosp. is now just ortho. floor. The Rothman Insti. has been in Jefferson Hosp. in downtown Philly for many yrs. They have, I believe, 5 offices to go to but from what I understand they only do surgeries in these two hosp. I didn't want to have to deal with the center city trip and I have family only blocks away from Nazareth Hosp. Upon release from the hosp. I did my 6 wk. recoup. at my daughters home in Lancaster, Pa. I was operated on a Tues. came home to my daughters on Sat. . I went back for my 6 wk. check up at the Nazareth Hosp. got an ok at that time to resume my normal activies and then off I was flying back to Fl. to my home. My next trip up to Pa. I will make an appt. for my check up. They wanted to see me in 6mo. but it will prob. be more like 9 mo. before I see then again. You are in VERY good hands with the rothman group. Good luck. Guest guest
thank you, peggy. i have spoken to a couple people who have had this procedure done and they have nothing but good things to say about it. I'm looking for a surgeon here in troy/royal oak, michigan area who will do this. Hopefully, i can have it done by october. there is a great article in a local paper here, www.detnews.com. scroll down to the article titled "Why getting older is getting easier". great info on this surgery. continued good luck with your recovery margo foley peg <pegfol@...> wrote: I had my surgery at the Nazareth Hosp.in the northeastsection of Phila.
