Guest guest
You are right not to plan on the radio working. It might work but don't plan on it. I work in the OR, We get only two local stations and one is not the NPR. I wish it was. I do by the way have a copy of the Anvil Chorus I played it once for a surgeon. He did not think it was humorous. I like 60's and early 70's classic rock during surgery. Guest guest
Hi Larry, Classic rock sounds good to me too. But today I had an upper endoscopy. (Its a rather annoying procedure where they stick a long tube with a camera down your throat and look for abnormalities in the throat and stomach.) For that they give you (in an IV) a drug like valium and a narcotic like demerol. They insisted that I'd be sleepy and drowsy for an hour afterwards. They also advise you not to drive, make important decisions, etc., etc. But I woke up feeling fine 10 minutes after the procedure. So I guess I'm wondering if anyone knows what they give you to make you drowsy in addition to this 'regional' anesthetic. I wouldn't like to 'come to' and listen to the surgical team for another 60 - 90 minutes. Carol Larry Lauer <lhlauer@...> wrote: You are right not to plan on the radio working. Guest guest
Carol I am a nurse anesthetist, I was on both sides of that. I gave the anes for hip replacements and I had my hip replaced. I chose a spinal with sedation. I slept through most of the procedure. When I wanted to sleep more I asked for more And I was given more. When I wanted to listen to music I listened to music. Most of the time I slept. Most of my patients choose to sleep most of the time. So don't worry just ask for more. I will also bet the medicine you got was called Versed. It is great stuff Larry At 06:10 PM 9/27/2004 -0700, you wrote: >Hi Larry, > >Classic rock sounds good to me too. But today I had an upper >endoscopy.
