I just retired my trusted old cane today. I can't tell you how long it has been my friend. I still limp due to muscle weakness but every day is better. I can do stairs with no problem. The hip and back pain disappeared with the surgery. Getting use to not taking Advil for Arthritis and/or back pain every few hours is not hard to do.I can pick up stuff off the floor now and walk as far as I want, but I still have a little problem putting a sock on my right foot. I have to tell you, the friggen toilet raiser has been almost as big of an ordeal as the entire hip surgery. Does that say anything? lol Ill be glad to get rid of that sucker.I can drive my wife's automatic SUV. I haven't been on the freeway with it and am taking it easy. My car is a 5-speed sport GT and the seat is really low. I'm afraid I won't be able to get out of it if I get down that far, so I'm leaving it parked for another month.I have five grown kids. (Four daughters and a son.) This has been quite a treat with all the special attention I am getting. I don't tell them it doesn't hurt. (smile) I figure they will find out soon enough and I will be waiting on myself again.Ya'll take care and good healing.daniel
Guest guest
Hi , Thanks so much for your encouraging post-op report. I'm still 2 weeks before my surgery to replace my right hip, and I'm getting more nervous by the day. I'm hoping to feel well enough by July to enjoy some of my sunner, and be able to return to my P/T teaching job next fall. If you can do it, so cn I!! Keep up the good work, and lots of luck. Guest guest
Dan glad to hear you are doing so well , i cant believe you are actually able to put a sock on already. you are quite right in waiting awhile to drive that sports car. whatch out for any twisting movements too you don't want to go through the two dislocations like i did. jbgimpy <dan_pacnw@...> wrote: The time is going so fast it's hard to keep up.
