WOO HOO!!!!

I'm so EXCITED!!!!!!!!!! He did it! Yep, he actually pooped in the potty! I told him on the way home from daycare that if he went poo poo in the potty, I would buy him a the Tank Engine train whistle. As soon as we got home, he said he had to go potty, and it has taken him almost 3 hours of running back in there to "go", but he actually did it! I'm sure the whistle will drive me crazy, but if he keeps pooping in the toilet, it will be worth it!!! Just wanted to share, because I am very excited and proud of him!

Thats better luck than I've had.. Caleb will be 6 in

May and we're not quite there yet. He can stay dry,

and can go, but by late afternoon its one accident

after another. We have even run him to the bathroom

every 20 mins, and still not helping.

That is so frustrating. I wonder if there is something going on during the day that is causing too much stress for him to go potty.

I AM SO HAPPY FOR YOU. I CAN TOTALLY RELATE! I AM STILL LAUGHING OUT LOUD. MY CALEB IS 4 1/2 (5 IN MAY) AND IS TRAINED ONLY WITHOUT DIAPERS ON.

Deb, It sounds like things are going pretty good for you. I am glad. Sometimes it does take a while on some for the scars to heal. Remember how deep the incision is. Anyway, you are right about the cane. Also even when you think "I don't need this sucker anymore", take it with you in your car. We all get a bad day from time to time when the weather changes or have over-done PT or work. I am happy that your new OS is working out. I had two also. My first did the 3 artroscopics and partials... BBBBOOOO HHHHIIISSS!!! The 2nd OS did my Totals to correct all the damage from the first OS. It is great to be able to trust in the people who slice into your body... LOL Well I gotta go, my kids...scratch that...LOL..my adults are coming down from Dallas from college for Easter, so gotta run. Last details. My husband sez I spoil them during

the holidays. Doesn't matter, they both are still my babies no matter how old. I over-did the last few days.. WWWHHHOOOOOOPPPSSS!!! me bad.. Have a great Easter or Passover. I got to 90. They had me walk down the hall without my cane, but I will still need to use for a while if walking in grocery stores or long periods of time. My scar is looking great, but still not completely free of scabing. Guess I heal a bit slower. Swelling is still BIG TIME, bit I know that takes many months.I'm starting to feel a bit more clearer minded, and foods are tasing more normal, so maybe the anesthesia from the surgery is finally earing off. Anyway, I go back in 4 months to see him.Second thing...I actually slept for 7 HOURS, yep 7 hours last night. First time that long since I've been home. Usually only 2-3 hours. I did take the Ambien, but that's the first time it actually let me sleep that long. I think I'm so relieved too with my new PT that I actually am feeling less stress so am able to relax. Maybe now with sleep and a better PT I can

actually catch up on my therapy. He even shows up on time too....LOL. Deb

Time to stick my neck out again.

Do you think your fear of the pt could have stopped you bending?

I am a great believer in the connection of body and mind. I am also the

kind of person who has learnt to avoid people I know I will clash with

treating me. I need to feel that with everything that is happening to me I

have some control.

I think the PT will get at least 90 when they try next.

Keep smiling, you are doing ok.

Margaret,

Oh yes, I'm totally sure that had something to do with it!! I too

am a firm believer in the mind/body/spirit connection. I didn't like

my first PT and her attitude, so I'd put up a wall around myself,

there was no way she was gonna get thru to me. Now that I have this

gentle PT, I am doing so much better. Today I had another fantasitc

session, I am making great progress. Was able to bend even further.

My body is relaxing more, hence the sleeping better. My attitude

about healing is changing, I feel much more optomistic about my final

outcome....I think it's even reflecting in my posts here. My husband

says I have a more positive attitude. I finally am thinking " long

term goals " instead of just how will I make it to the bathroom within

the next five minutes.

The mind is a very powerful thing!!! Just takes me a while to get

outta my slump sometimes.

Hi Debra,

You sound so different now that you have a new pt.

I love my pt. He is very gentle but also makes sure I

do what I need to do. He really worked me hard

yesterday because my first Dr. check is coming up

Monday the 17th. I had my LKR on the 14th of March and

I have had some rough days but feel very blessed to be

where I am. My pt started working my leg yesterday and

bent it back to 132!!!!! I couldn't believe it, it was

hard and I shed some tears but I know he is good at

what he does and willl not push me further than I can

go. After all that I went to a birthday party at the

park and it was great. I have been able to cut back on

the meds and thats a good thing too cause now maybe I

will be able to go to the bathroom normal again if you

know what I mean. I wish you the best Debra, you are

doing great, hang in there, close your eyes, think of

something plesant, and push, push, push...then rest,

rest, rest.

HI DEBRA, YOU WERE TALKING ABOUT THE SWELLING. THAT

TAKES UP ALOT OF SPACE FOR YOUR BENDING SO KEEP THAT

IN MIND. I ALWAYS DO THE ICE PACKS BEFORE THERAPY IN

HOPES TO NOT HAVE ANY SWELLING FROM BEING ON MY FEET

BEFORE GOING TO PT. THAT WAY I HAVE A GOOD BEND.

Just had to post a couple of good things.....

First, I went for my 4 week post-op TKR check up yesterday. Got an

awesome report from my doc. I was kinda worried cause of my bend,

rememnber my new PT said I was only at 70 on Tuesday? Well yesterday

at the office I got to 90. They had me walk down the hall without my

cane, but I will still need to use for a while if walking in grocery

stores or long periods of time. My scar is looking great, but still

not completely free of scabing. Guess I heal a bit slower. Swelling

is still BIG TIME, bit I know that takes many months.

I'm starting to feel a bit more clearer minded, and foods are tasing

more normal, so maybe the anesthesia from the surgery is finally

earing off. Anyway, I go back in 4 months to see him.

Second thing...I actually slept for 7 HOURS, yep 7 hours last night.

First time that long since I've been home. Usually only 2-3 hours.

I did take the Ambien, but that's the first time it actually let me

sleep that long. I think I'm so relieved too with my new PT that I

actually am feeling less stress so am able to relax.

Maybe now with sleep and a better PT I can actually catch up on my

therapy. He even shows up on time too....LOL.
