I hope it isn't as bad as it sounds like it's going to be. The surgeon and PT both say it should get me at least another 20 - 25 degrees flexation. I nope so. Wish me luck. Guest guest Posted December 20, 2006 Report Posted December 20, 2006 Hi Lindy Lou, Well it's 7:30 p.m. and I'm finally home. It wasn't as bad as I expected and I went from 95 degrees unassisted to 120 degrees unassisted in one day. The surgeon had me go to PT directly from the hospital so I'm pretty sore tonight, but I'm happy. Thanks for the well wishes, prayers and hugs. I hope I'll still have the flex tomorrow. Guest guest Posted December 20, 2006 Report Posted December 20, 2006 Hi Shirley, You were right, it wasn't half as bad as I had thought it would be. I'm pretty sore tonight but I have 125 degrees unassisted flex now so I'm also very happy. The only down side is now my Surgeon says that I may not be able to return to work for another 6-weeks. OUCH. Happy Holidays and feel good. Best Regards, Alan B. > > Good luck, > It is not that bad. I had it done on my right knee. Guest guest Posted December 21, 2006 Report Posted December 21, 2006 Hi Being new to this hip replacement stuff, how is the amount of degree measured, is it 0 while standing and 90 if your leg is perpendicular to your body? What is considered good? Thanks in advance Ed Quote
Guest guest Posted December 21, 2006 Report Posted December 21, 2006 Hi Shirley, I'm sorry to hear that. I hope things start looking up for you soon. I just got a $250k budget for my department for the year and now find out I may be out another 6-weeks. That is not good. Today I wake up and my legs are so swollen that I have almost no flex again. I called my PT and he said don't worry, it's to be expected. Ice and Elevate and Ice, Ice, Ice. It will get better in a couple of days. I hope so. I have PT tomorrow. Happy Holidays and Feel Better Soon. Alan B. > > > > > > Good luck, > > > It is not that bad. I had it done on my right knee. Guest guest Posted December 21, 2006 Report Posted December 21, 2006 Hi Susie, I was in all respects except for flex. I had developed so much scar tissue that I couldn't push past 95 - 100 degrees. The only way to progress was to undergo the manipulation procedure. It seems to have worked, but I'm pretty swollen right now. Love and Hugs,Lindy LouRight THR 1/22/2007 Hi Lindy Lou,Well it's 7:30 p.m. and I'm finally home. It wasn't as bad as Iexpected and I went from 95 degrees unassisted to 120 degreesunassisted in one day. The surgeon had me go to PT directly from thehospital so I'm pretty sore tonight, but I'm happy. Thanks for thewell wishes, prayers and hugs. I hope I'll still have the flex tomorrow.Happy Holiday'sAlan B. Quote

I had my Hip replacement done on my right side and I had my knee replace on my right side also by the same dr .The dr for three years said that I had bad scar tissues and never told me if I could have a operation to fixed it just say bad scar tissues then I went to another Arthritis dr for my hip he said go back to the dr that did the operation he said that he couldn't tell me anything because he didn't do the operation I haven't been back to a dr yet its been two years now . Guest guest Posted December 23, 2006 Report Posted December 23, 2006 Hi Alan, I'm glad the manipulation is over. I'm wondering if they did it under anesthesia? How are you doing now?
